Mediaslaves' first article! Originally posted on Dental Records Music News,

Quarantine has really gotten the best of us, hasn’t it? All play and no work makes us crazy. But the show must go on, which brings me to Vancouver BC heavy-punk band Mediaslaves and their new music video for “Fleeks and Geeks” – the group recorded the entire video using creative editing and Instagram filters to make for one trippy experience. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do in times like this. You can watch the video above. Mediaslaves were formed in 2018 and they blend punk rock with elements of metal, thrash, and hardcore.
The song itself is aggressive and comical, balancing precariously between something scary and something stupid. Needless to say, the video is fitting as hell. Mediaslaves really captured their whole vibe in one video/song combo. You may recognize some of the Instagram filters in this video, or you may have even used them yourself. The one with your face coming out of tiny faces fixed with shanty umbilical cords has me rolling every time. The internet is an amazing thing.
Vancouver BC is quickly becoming known for its underground punk roots, and bands like Mediaslaves are just one of a plethora of super rad outfits that you should be paying attention to.
In these crazy and uncertain times, remember one thing: you turned to art and music to keep you sane. Support it, and it will support you right back.
